Educational Development Kit (EDK)
The Educational Development Kit (EDK) is a comprehensive, hands-on toolkit designed to make Bitcoin education interactive, accessible, and enjoyable for educators, conference organizers, and community builders worldwide. Built on the principle that learning Bitcoin should be tangible and human-centered, the EDK transforms complex concepts into collaborative, low-tech activities that encourage discovery through play and participation. It includes lesson plans, activities, and physical materials that focus on foundational ideas like scarcity, value, trade, money, and self-custody. As an open-source resource, the EDK empowers anyone to teach, adapt, or remix the materials freely. It's culturally accessible, language-neutral where possible, requiring minimal technology, and perfect for diverse settings like conferences, meetups, or community events, particularly in under-resourced areas.
Our mission with the EDK is to:
-
Empower educators and leaders to run effective Bitcoin workshops.
-
Provide ready-to-use materials that simplify teaching while fostering discussion-based learning.
-
Create a global repository of tools to drive Bitcoin adoption through interactive experiences.
-
Prioritize learning by doing, open-source collaboration, simplicity, and play to spark curiosity about money and Bitcoin.
